I'm currently awaiting the arrival of my third child and have been doing a lot of thinking about giving birth. It's not so much the physical aspect of labor and delivery that has me pondering the birth of my new baby, it's more about the spiritual significance of birthing something new into the world that has me so captivated in this season of my life.
With the dawning of a new decade, I realize a lot of you have embarked on a new journey and are also preparing to give birth to great things in 2020. You've held the vision in your mind and hearts for years and it's finally time to manifest everything you've been believing God for. Whether it's giving birth to a new business, writing and publishing a book, traveling extensively, making more money, or pursuing a new career or higher position on your job, I want to encourage you by saying, "Your dreams are possible!".
As I always tell my life coaching clients, what you want wants you, too!
The mere fact that you have the desire to do better and pursue higher accomplishments is a great sign that whatever it is that you want is very possible for you to have. The vision and desire was given to you because it is a part of what you're destined to accomplish on this earth.
Unfortunately, during certain seasons of your life, you may have fallen into the temptation to accept less, count yourself out, or revert back to old patterns and habits that kept you stuck on the same level for years. But no more, not this year! This year you're going to finish what you started, nurture and develop that baby, push through and give birth to the dreams that you've been pregnant with! Say, "YES" out loud right now if you believe that today!
Here's how you're going to successfully birth your dreams:
1. You're going to stay committed and stop giving up on yourself.
In 2020, you're not going to give up. You're going to hang in there no matter what and see to it that you accomplish everything you set out to do over the next 12 months.
Unforeseen circumstances will pop up on you, people will offend you and get on your nerves, and things will begin to look like they're not working out, but you WILL stay committed! Tell yourself that!
Be determined to win at all costs...no matter how tough things get! If you're ever going to fully give birth to your dreams, you have to stay in the ring and fight...even when you feel like you're getting your a** kicked! In 2020, declare that you're not going to be a punk, you're not going to be a coward and run away when times get tough, you're not going to give up on pursuing the extraordinary life that you want. Instead, declare that you're going to give birth to all of your dreams and desires by being bold, courageous, committed and focused on finishing everything you start!
You'd be kidding yourself if you thought you could do this thing alone. Even the most experienced mothers need a team of doctors, nurses, and aides to help them successfully birth their babies.
In 2020, you're going to do away with the stinking thinking that caused you to believe you could do it on your own. The truth is, in order to birth your baby, you'll need God, faith, lots of prayer, and support from godly professionals to help you give birth to your dreams.
I'm reminded of the wisdom that comes from the Book of Proverbs in the following Bible verses:
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future." - Jeremiah 29:11
"The blessings of the Lord maketh a person rich and He adds no sorrow to it." - Proverbs 10:22
"We can make our plans but the Lord establishes our steps." - Proverbs 16:9
"Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many counselors, they succeed." - Proverbs 15:22
This year, you're going to birth your dreams and you're going to do it by being in close relationship with God, reading and having faith in His word, praying several times throughout each day, and hiring professional helpers (like a life coach, therapist, personal trainer, business consultant, etc.) whose purpose it is to help you change old patterns and manifest your dreams.
3. You're going to mind your own business.
The baby you're carrying is unique to you. Nobody else has the vision, goals, and desires you have. God gave you your vision for a purpose and it was specifically designed for you. You'll lose your way every time you compare yourself and your life to anyone else's.
If you're going to birth your dreams in 2020, you have to stay focused on walking the unique path God has you on and totally ignore what everybody else is doing. That's going to take some discipline - especially if you have a habit of scrolling through social media for hours out of the day.
This year, I challenge you to focus more on yourself and avoid being swayed away from your path by monitoring the success and accomplishments of others. Trust your own process. Trust your own journey. You're birthing something that nobody has ever birthed before and you'll never find anything that resembles your own, God-given and unique path on social media. Trust that God knows what He's doing, and trust that you have what it takes to succeed...even if it doesn't look like what everyone else is doing.
You have what it takes. Deep down, the answers for your own success are dwelling within you, especially if you have the Holy Spirit. This year, if you're going to successfully birth your dreams, you have to practice believing in yourself more, you have to be confident in your own ideas, creativity and capabilities; and, most important, you must manage your time wisely and avoid wasting it by doing things that have nothing to do with what you're working on accomplishing.
Affirmations and declarations for 2020...
Now is the time to birth your dreams. Now is the time to manifest the things that you've had the vision for over the last few years. You are more than capable of doing it. Affirm and declare right now: "I am committed, focused, and determined to successfully birth my dreams in 2020! I am in it for the long run, I'm not going to let anything or anyone hold me back, and I'm going to see to it that I achieve everything that I set out to do this year! God is with me! And, therefore, my future looks bright and prosperous!"
