Shawana Brooks Tells Her Inspiring Life Story

May 27, 2018

Hey, Fabs!
From time to time, I like to shine a spotlight on amazing women who have overcome traumatic events in their lives and use their stories to inspire others.
I recently had a conversation with Shawana Brooks, a 27-year-old woman who has experienced sexual abuse, homelessness, domestic violence, and became a single mother to her baby sister when her mother died. Growing up, all the odds were against her. Her parents were drug dealers and everything around her prophesied to her being either the girlfriend of a dealer, a stripper, or a lifelong welfare recipient - but GOD!
Shawana is now a department chair at a prestigious academy in Atlanta, a biology teacher, and a CEO of non-profit that assists young girls with living their God-given dreams. She's not only living her best life, but she's helping young women live theirs as well.
Shawana had to dig herself out of the trenches in order to become the successful, beautiful woman she is today. And, I know her story will inspire you to do the same. Click this link to watch the conversation I had with Shawana about her life, her journey, and the process of writing her first book. If you've thought about sharing your story with the world like Shawana, this video will definitely give you a little push, inspiration, and motivation. Enjoy...and leave a comment!
With love,
