Most people in the 'hood
can care less about things like class, manners, and etiquette. Oftentimes, the
more ratchet you are, the more you’re respected. Being and acting ghetto might
get you respect in your ‘hood; but, when you finally leave, you’ll quickly
learn that the ratchet behavior is frowned upon everywhere else.
For some people, it’s
not important to socialize or to learn things like how to have class or proper
social etiquette; but, I'm passionate about it because I've witnessed firsthand
how it can take your life to the next level.
Perhaps it was my stint
in California that caused me to become obsessed with being proper, or maybe it
was the fact that I envisioned myself dining with real-life royalty; whatever
it was, I was determined to learn how to be classy, how to act well-mannered,
and how to be proper when necessary. When I learned how to do those things and
started implementing them, a whole world of success and opportunity opened up
for me.
If you’re from the
ghetto like myself, chances are nobody taught you how
to socialize fabulously. Personally, I had to start learning by observing other
fabulous people and via the Internet. The World Wide Web is a great place to
get a free education on things like which fork and knife to eat with, how to
determine which wine should be paired with which cheese, and how to properly
RSVP for a social gathering.

When you become more adept at socializing with new people, you'll quickly elevate to new heights and be exposed to opportunities that will completely change your life. Someone
once offered me a business consulting job just because I was well-mannered,
spoke properly, and could articulate on a range of subjects from pop culture to
politics. I'm telling you, being good at socializing is everything!
So, socialize
fabulously. Get dressed up when you go out. Wear clothes that are not too tight
or too revealing. Throw on a pair of classy diamond studs instead of bamboo earrings.
Unless you’re a pop star, leave the red, blue, and purple hair dye alone.
Expand your vocabulary. Practice speaking in front of the mirror. Cross your
legs when you’re seated in your chair. Be soft. Smile. Laugh. Give compliments. Talk to strangers. Ask engaging questions. Drink...but not too much. Loosen up. Tell a joke for God’s sake!
All these things will
increase the chances of fabulous people responding favorably to you. They’ll invite
you to their fabulous houses, include you into their fabulous circles, and
introduce you to their fabulous friends. You’ll begin to see that fabulous
people actually like and respect you. And, when fabulous people like and
respect you, they’ll present you with fabulous opportunities to take your life
to the next level.
I mean, you do want to go to the next level, don’t you? Okay
then. You better get into it!
